Jackson 5 – Ultimate Christmas Collection

My favorite Christmas CD this year is…..drumroll

The Jackson 5 – Ultimate Christmas Collection

The Ultimate Christmas Collection is a reissue of The Jackson 5 Christmas album released in 1970 on Motown, with ten bonus tracks. This is a pleasing combination of holiday classics, with not so classic, but still enjoyable, original tunes. I love the bonus cuts exclusive to this compilation, such as the spoken seasons greetings from Michael, Jermaine, Tito, and Jackie, originally issued on a 1973 promotional single; “Little Christmas Tree,” from A Motown Christmas, also from 1973; and remixed and a cappella versions of “Up on the House Top,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Someday at Christmas,” “Give Love on Christmas Day,” and “J5 Christmas Medley.”

I got this album last year and I listen to it over and over. This is a wonderful holiday album for any fan of The Jackson 5.

  1. I listening to the original and I love it, especially “up on the housetop.” I have the motown christmas with all the other artist as well and that too is definitely something I love listening too this time of year. Can’t bring in the holidays with J5 (that and Donnie Hathaway’s This Christmas…Shake a hand, shake a hand now)
