Larry King Live (1985-2010)

I bid goodbye to one of my favorite shows of all time. The Larry King show ends this week.

In an era of news/talk television where the opinions of the hosts are becoming more prevalent, King’s program continued to be about the guests and the topics at hand. He’ll never be considered a “hardball” interviewer but his fame and style allowed him to consistently get the big interviews. He is a true media icon woven into the basic fabric of American contemporary culture. For all of these reasons and more, Larry King is one of the greatest television talk show hosts of all time and one of the greatest ever heard on radio.

Thank You Larry.

  1. I missed his last show but I would always tune in every now and then to watch him interview but I wouldn’t even call it that, it was more like a chat and we (the viewers) where just behind this invisible wall to see and hear all the interesting things he could get his interviewee to say.
