Orange Is The New Black – Netflix

My new favorite series is a show on Netflix called “Orange Is the New Black”

The series revolves around Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a bisexual woman living in New York City who is sentenced to 15 months in a women’s federal prison for transporting a suitcase full of drug money to her former girlfriend, Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), who is an international drug smuggler/mule. The offense occurred ten years prior to the start of the series, and in that time Piper had moved on to a quiet, law-abiding life among New York’s upper middle class. While in prison, Piper is reunited with Alex (who named Piper in her trial – resulting in her arrest), and they re-examine their relationship and deal with their fellow inmates. At the end of Season Two, Piper has 8 months left in prison.

Orange is the New Black is currently streaming Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix. The streaming service company has not announced a release date for Season 3, though based on their scheduling, it will likely return in Summer 2015.

  1. I don’t have netflix but all I have been hearing these past couple of months from surfing the net is Orange is the new black and house of cards being so good. I know Netflix is changing the way people watch tv by offering all the season’s episodes upfront instead of one having to wait week after week for a new episodes (a la binge watching). I guess it must be good for you to post something about both of them.

  2. They are both great shows. Nothing on regular television even close to the writing, directing, and acting. Kevin Spacey is nothing short of brilliant and the cast of Orange Is The New Black are remarkable. I’ve watched the entire seasons of both in a weekend.
