The WordPress.com Year in Review (and Resolutions for 2018)

The WordPress.com Blog

Some years go by slowly — not because they’re busier, but maybe there’s just more out there in the world to stop and notice. We hope the WordPress.com and Jetpack community offered you some of those moments this year.

Maybe it was a helpful chat with someone on our Happiness team, or maybe you discovered a cool new feature that made business or blogging even easier. Perhaps you read something on WordPress.com that inspired you. We just want to say thanks for being here, and we’re excited to see what you all accomplish in 2018 and beyond.

Below are some highlights from the year in WordPress.com — and make sure you check out WordPress.com Discover to see more favorite moments from 2017. Happy New Year!

The Killing Of A Sacred Deer

I made it in two different scenes in “The Killing Of A Sacred Deer” with Nicole Kidman/Colin Ferrell. This was the first. I’m out of focus, but I’ll take it.

Song Exploder

One of my favorite podcasts to listen to is Song Exploder, which is a music podcast hosted and produced by Hrishikesh Hirway.

The biweekly show features musicians talking about the creative process behind an individual song while “deconstructing” the song into its component parts.

The songs highlighted on the program have belonged to genres ranging from pop to hardcore punk to television theme songs, film scores and video game music. The podcast launched on the Maximum Fun network, went independent in February 2015 and joined Radiotopia in June 2015.

Here is the latest episode featuring Lin Manuel Miranda.

The Killing Of A Sacred Deer

Friend of mine just sent me this trailer clip of the film “The Killing Of A Sacred Deer” with Nicole Kidman and Colin Ferrell, where I play a doctor at a gala. They show me twice at the front table next to the woman with the blue dress. We actually did about 30-35 takes of this scene. Second movie trailer clip in two years I’ve been in (Miles Ahead). Pretty cool!
